NP203
The New Process NP203 is a large cast iron transfer case, weight in around 170 pounds. Used by Dodge 1974-1979, Ford from 1974-1979, and Chevrolet and GMC from 1973 to 1979. Most are married, with the exception to a few divorced found in Ford applications. The NP203 is a 4wd all the time. It has the ability to be made part time to give 2wd. Some have a one piece cast iron tail housing or a 2 piece aluminum tail housing. It is gear and chain driven. Chain widths are 2.5" and 2". 2" chains found in later models, typically 78-79. The range box is gear driven and controls the low and high function. This is the part of a 203 that is used for a 203/205 Doubler.
