4L80E to TH400 Pilot Adapter/Spacer Kit. CNC Machined from 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum.


This adapter is used when replacing a TH400 with a 4L80E.


This adapter does not replace the OE adapter. Must be used in conjunction with either style of TH400 OE adapter. This will go in between the 4L80e and TH400 OE NP205 adapter. When utilizing this adapter, follow the guide below for transmission tail shaft modification.


• 1979-1984 TH400 to Fig.8 NP205 will require a 2wd 4L80E.
(Short 2wd 6-1/4" Stick-out requires the Output Shaft to be trimmed 1-1/8") (Long 2wd 7-5/8" Stick-out requires the Output Shaft to be trimmed 2-1/2")
• 1985-1991 TH400 to 6 Bolt Round NP205 will Require a 4wd 4L80E or a 2wd 4L80E with a 4wd Output Shaft.
(No Output Shaft Modifications are Necessary)


★★★ If you are buying a transfer case rebuilt from TCS, the above guidelines may not apply as the tcase will be built to your exact requirements.


All 2wd and some 4wd 4L80E have VSS Sensors built into the transmission. If your transmission does not have functional VSS Sensor we do sell a VSS Rear Output Kit for the NP205.
Or if your 4L80E needs to be rebuilt, we also sell the output reluctor wheel and speed sensor that you can install in and on the transmission.
